Our vision on sustainability
A word from our CEO, Tom Peeters:
“At Mediaforta, sustainability is not a side note, it’s a strategic choice. By actively engaging with initiatives like the VOKA Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship (VCDO), we embed sustainability in every layer of our agency. And we look beyond ecology: we prioritise workplace wellbeing and the ethical use of technology.”
“Our actions speak for themselves—from energy-saving measures and remote working to collaborating with local suppliers. Sustainability is a shared journey, and we work closely with freelancers, clients, and partners to tackle it together. For us, sustainability is a long-term vision. FOR PEACE
Communicating our sustainability journey
Sustainability is deeply woven into how Mediaforta operates and grows. To ensure transparency and make our impact visible, we have shared our sustainability journey across multiple communication channels. We’ve consistently kept our employees, clients, and partners informed and engaged in our story of sustainable progress.
→ Why do we find this important?
By openly sharing our sustainability journey, we aim to inspire and motivate others to take action as well. Transparency builds credibility and shows that sustainability is not an abstract idea – it’s a tangible, measurable commitment.
→ How did we approach this?
We published regular updates about our sustainability efforts through our blog and social media channels. This very report is part of that ongoing effort. By communicating consistently and structurally, we make our commitment real and show that sustainability at Mediaforta is much more than a good intention.
Developing an AI policy
Artificial intelligence brings opportunities, but also responsibilities. To use it wisely, we developed an AI policy that sets clear guidelines for the use of AI at Mediaforta.
→ Why do we find this important?
AI is becoming increasingly influential in how we create content and automate processes. Without clear agreements, its use could raise questions about reliability, privacy, and ethics. A solid policy helps us avoid pitfalls and gives our team a framework to apply AI responsibly.
→ How did we approach this?
We created a detailed AI policy that outlines when and how AI can be used in our organisation. Through ongoing benchmarking with external references, we continue to refine the policy to ensure it aligns with our values and ways of working.
Collecting insights on how freelancers approach sustainability
Our sustainability efforts extend beyond our own operations, they include everyone we collaborate with. That’s why we want to understand how our freelancers approach sustainability. This allows us to better grasp our broader impact and make informed choices when collaborating.
→ Why do we find this important?
Freelancers are a vital part of our business. By understanding how they integrate sustainability into their work, we can not only strengthen our own sustainability strategy but also contribute to raising awareness in our sector.
→ How did we approach this?
We prepared a survey with targeted questions to explore freelancers’ views and practices around sustainability. We plan to link this survey to our broader future CO₂ measurements so we can integrate the data into our next sustainability report.
FOR PEOPLE
Appointing a confidential advisor
At Mediaforta, we aim to foster a safe and inclusive workplace where everyone feels heard and respected. That’s why we’ve appointed a confidential advisor—someone employees can turn to with concerns or questions. This person offers a listening ear and, if needed, refers individuals to further support.
→ Why do we find this important?
With fewer than 50 permanent employees, Mediaforta is not legally required to appoint a confidential advisor. Still, we choose to do so to show that we take mental health and workplace wellbeing seriously. It’s part of building a positive culture rooted in respect, transparency, and wellbeing.
→ How did we approach this?
In early 2025, one of our permanent team members was officially appointed as confidential advisor, having followed the appropriate training. The entire Mediaforta team was informed of who this person is, what their role entails, and how to reach them.
Raising awareness around alcohol and drug prevention
We attach great importance to creating a healthy and safe work environment. That’s why we invested in awareness-raising around a preventive alcohol and drug policy. This is not just about legal compliance, it’s about fostering a culture that puts wellbeing and responsibility at the core.
→ Why do we find this important?
A preventive alcohol and drug policy contributes to employee wellbeing and promotes a healthy, professional workplace culture. It helps manage risk and provides a clear structure when issues arise. Transparent communication around this topic ensures that everyone understands its importance.
→ How did we approach this?
As this policy is a legal requirement for all employers, we developed a version tailored to our organisation. To ensure legal compliance and alignment with best practices, we consulted our HR provider and the external prevention service.
Supporting remote, flexible work
Remote working is part of Mediaforta’s DNA, but it also brings challenges: workload, reduced social contact, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
→ Why do we find this important?
Flexible work has many advantages, but without structure, it can lead to overload or disconnection. That’s why it’s vital our team feels supported and knows how to organise their work in a way that sustains their wellbeing. We aim to make remote work not only productive but enjoyable.
→ How did we approach this?
Philippe Degelin from Groep Intro conducted a workplace satisfaction survey among the Mediaforta team. The results showed that things were going well overall. Still, we believe there’s always room for improvement. That’s why we organised a team session, led by Philippe, to reflect on stress reduction, workload, and team connection. We made concrete agreements and documented them in a report.
Organising a resilience workshop
The entire Mediaforta team took part in a resilience-building workshop led by Mensura. This was a key step in strengthening mental wellbeing within our organisation.
→ Why do we find this important?
Mental resilience is essential in a fast-paced industry like ours. Resilient individuals are better equipped to handle challenges, stay motivated, and sustain strong performance over time.
→ How did we approach this?
The workshop explored stress awareness and offered practical tools for managing it—tools our team can apply daily.
Building knowledge around digital sustainability and inclusion
Sustainability and inclusion also matter in the digital realm. How accessible and energy-efficient is our online presence? How do we ensure that all users—regardless of background or ability—can access our tools and content?
→ Why do we find this important?
Digital sustainability isn’t just about reducing energy consumption, it’s also about making websites and platforms accessible. By improving in these areas, we strengthen our societal responsibility and create better user experiences.
→ How did we approach this?
We attended three webinars hosted by Statik on digital sustainability, accessibility, and inclusion diversity. The key insights were shared during a team meeting. We also created a document with follow-up action points, which we now aim to implement in a structural way.
FOR PROSPERITY
Supporting disconnection
In a world where technology blurs the line between work and personal life, Mediaforta actively promotes disconnection. We encourage employees to go offline when needed and protect a healthy work-life balance.
→ Why do we find this important?
Disconnection reduces stress, helps prevent burnout, and protects mental health. By setting boundaries between work and private life, we build sustainable work relationships and long-term productivity. We want rest and recovery to be just as valued as performance.
→ How did we approach this?
We developed a disconnection policy, reviewed by an external expert for usability and effectiveness. We shared the final version with the team and actively encourage its use. Our CEO, Tom Peeters, led by example by taking a full week off, without checking email.
Raising awareness about ergonomics
We took part in an ergonomics workshop with Sit and Sleep, aimed at promoting healthier and more comfortable workspaces.
→ Why do we find this important?
Sedentary work can lead to physical complaints like back, neck, and shoulder pain. By investing in ergonomics, we help prevent overuse injuries and increase both comfort and productivity.
→ How did we approach this?
During the workshop, we received practical tips on posture, desk chair settings, and monitor positioning. We compiled these insights into a blog post so our freelance content creators could benefit as well.
Choosing local suppliers for holiday gifts
Sustainability and social responsibility also guide how we celebrate. That’s why we chose to source our holiday gifts locally, ensuring a positive impact for both employees and the community.
→ Why do we find this important?
Buying locally supports regional businesses and strengthens the local economy. We believe holiday gifts should show appreciation and contribute to something meaningful.
→ How did we approach this?
We partnered with Lions Club Kortenberg Hertog Jan to source champagne for our gifts. Proceeds supported local causes, such as Christmas boxes for families in need and youth support programmes. Each gift included information about the social projects it contributed to.
Strengthening cybersecurity
To create a safer digital environment, we implemented several targeted security actions.
→ Why do we find this important?
Cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated. Investing in prevention, detection, and awareness protects not only our operations but also those of our clients and partners.
→ How did we approach this?
We developed a comprehensive security policy, secured all devices (laptops, smartphones, etc.), and created a five-step action plan. Through our partnership with Phished.io, we continue to raise awareness and improve our ability to detect and respond to threats.
FOR THE PLANET
Preparing for CSRD reporting
The new EU CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) is approaching fast. We’re taking proactive steps to understand and prepare for the new reporting obligations.
→ Why do we find this important?
Sustainability reporting is more than a legal obligation, it’s a valuable tool for insight and improvement. Transparent reporting builds accountability and inspires others to make responsible choices.
→ How did we approach this?
Our CEO, Tom Peeters, followed the Voka training “Sustainability Reporting for SMEs.” Based on these insights, we are exploring the option of calculating our CO₂ footprint. This will help us set tangible goals and further sharpen our strategy.
Long-term partnership with UNICEF
Since our founding, Mediaforta has supported charitable causes, with UNICEF as our long-standing partner via monthly donations.
→ Why do we find this important?
As a content agency, we aim to create not just commercial impact, but societal value as well. Every child deserves opportunities, and UNICEF makes that happen every day. It’s a cause we stand firmly behind.
→ How did we approach this?
We’ve chosen a long-term commitment. Our monthly contributions provide ongoing support, aligning our growth with impactful initiatives. Strong content starts with strong values.
Buying trees via Natuurpunt
At Mediaforta, we believe real progress goes hand in hand with caring for our planet. That’s why we support environmental projects like tree planting through Natuurpunt.
→ Why do we find this important?
Sustainability isn’t a trend, it’s a responsibility. Planting trees helps offset CO₂, fosters biodiversity, and ensures a liveable world for future generations.
→ How did we approach this?
This year, we linked our tree initiative to knowledge sharing: for every completed survey (including our AI survey), we pledged to plant a tree. It’s a small action with a tangible, green result. Because every tree counts, especially when planted together.
3. Additional Themes
Our mission and vision
At Mediaforta, we help brands grow through strategic, high-quality content that is genuinely relevant. Our mission is to accelerate brand growth through outstanding content; content that informs, inspires, and drives real results.
We embrace a “quality first” philosophy. That’s why we work exclusively with the top 5% of specialised content creators in our international network, ranging from copywriters and UX writers to video creators and more.
To support this vision, we’ve built ContentRockr, our proprietary platform that streamlines the entire content process, from strategy and creation to publication and performance tracking. This enables us to offer an end-to-end solution and ensures consistency, efficiency, and impact.
We don’t just create content; we build long-term relationships. We believe that strong, strategic content is the cornerstone of brand credibility and sustainable growth.
Our company culture
At Mediaforta, we believe that strong content starts with strong people. That’s why our company culture is built on trust, flexibility, and a shared passion for content marketing.
We collaborate with an international community of top-tier content creators and give everyone the freedom to work where and when they perform best. This autonomy fosters not only responsibility but also creativity and ownership.
We’re committed to open communication, collaboration, and continuous growth, both professionally and personally. Innovation is in our DNA: we love to experiment, we’re constantly learning, and we embrace new tools and technologies like our ContentRockr platform.

Need a sustainability report?
Sustainability report? Make it a compelling content story.
Does the term “sustainability report” make you think of dry data and endless documents about climate concerns? We get it, and we’re here to change that. Sustainability communication doesn’t have to be heavy or complex. With the right approach, it becomes an inspiring story that engages people and drives action.
A well-crafted sustainability report does more than just inform. It reinforces your brand, engages your stakeholders, and makes it clear what your organisation stands for—ecologically, economically, and socially.
At Mediaforta, we help you shape that message in a strategic and creative way. We translate your sustainability efforts into content that is clear, credible, and action-oriented. That’s how we elevate your report from a static document to a story that resonates and creates real-world impact.
