Podcast: How strategic design shapes experiences (with strategic designer Christof)
Design is more than aesthetics, it’s a way of thinking and solving problems strategically. But how do you translate that mindset into real, experience-led projects? In this episode of Creator Talks, strategic designer Christof shares how design thinking shapes brands, products and experiences – with Tomorrowland as one of his standout use cases.
What is strategic design?
“That’s a tough one to start with. Defining strategic design is simple and complex at the same time. Because these terms are very loaded with meaning and ambiguous. Many people don’t realise that design is more than making things look better, it’s an attitude. The end result of design strategy could be as simple as improving how a service or product works or how something like a user journey should flow.”

You have to question the question
“Most of the time clients have a specific question and certain expectations and the first thing I do is question the question. I ask myself whether we are focusing on the right question and if we are going about it the right way. Strategic design is more about how you can solve things on an overall level.”
