How do you make complex content like cybersecurity content accessible?
“I am really writing it… for me! If I understand it, I can put it out there for others to understand. You also have to keep your audience in mind. A consumer just wants to keep their information safe. But someone from the C-level has to think about their company, employees, customers, vendors, … Still writing for them is just like writing for the consumer, because I don’t expect the CEO or COO to have a lot of cybersecurity knowledge. On the other hand, writing for the CISO (Chief Information and Security Officer) is a little different.”

When a company is looking for a cybersecurity person, they might call them a data security expert, a cybersecurity analyst or something else. All these different terms mean the same thing. So when you are looking at a job opening it takes a while to figure out what it is and realise: oh that is what I have been doing for years!”
