ChatGPT: the copywriter’s creative partner-in-crime

Bio:

In the wild, you might spot Wim Van Rompuy (1963) as the Schrijfdokter®. At the office, he wears the mask of the quality controller and manager of the text agency Schrijf.be copy & content. He’s been a copywriter and writing trainer for 23 years, with another 13 years in marketing and sales. On CheatGPT.ai he dissects the impact of AI on everything text-related. Fun fact: Wim has a degree in pharmacy (but suffered no permanent damage as a result).

Talk:

In the shower. That’s where I get my ideas. What about you? Staring out of the train window or scrolling through social media?
In a brainstorm session or with a mindmap? Browsing your swipe file or free-associating from your armchair? The fact is that just about anything can light your creative fuse. And the same applies to the AI chatbot.
Its ‘anything’ is the PROMPT you give it – your question or assignment. People like to say that ChatGPT can never be as creative as humans. I think it already is. Or rather: it could be, at least if we manage it creatively. Because ChatGPT is only as creative as your prompt. So this session steers clear of theoretical reflections, and instead gives you food for thought with some real-life examples.

What are the current applications of AI for graphic studios?

Bio:

Wouter Vergote (1981) is a creative entrepreneur driven by exploration and meaningful coincidences. He built a music label and a graphic design agency, helping numerous creatives and organizations grow.

Having grown up in Norway himself, he studied in Brussels and now resides in Leuven with his wife and two daughters. With an eye for winding paths, we’ll always find a way.

Talk:

What are the current applications of AI for graphic studios? Who can use these tools, and what is at stake for the industry? Additionally, which AI tools are currently being used, and what new advancements are on the horizon?

To fully leverage the benefits of AI, it’s essential to embrace its potential not only as designers but also as project managers, writers, strategic thinkers, editors, and creatives.

In this presentation, we’ll provide a practical and thought-provoking overview of how graphic studios can use AI to stay ahead of the curve and shape the future of design.

How to write the perfect press release?

Bio:

Bart Vandormael, who holds a Master degree in Germanic Linguistics and Literature at VUB University in Brussels as well as degrees in Digital Marketing at London Business School and Columbia Business School in New York, has built a career in journalism, PR, and marketing communications that spans over 25+ years. He is founder of marketing communications agency Scaramanga. “In fact, I decided to switch from journalism (Knack Magazine, Trends Style, De Morgen, Het Nieuwsblad, Studio Brussel, …) to PR and marketing communications because I had grown tired of having to struggle my way through approximately 100 press releases a week, of which about 90 percent I found below par and not suited to my needs as a reporter.” Some of his (past and present) clients include KBC, Cera, NMBS, De Lijn, Jessa Ziekenhuis, Ischgl, ARCADIS, and CityDepot. Apart from that, Bart is a passionate Las Vegas, James Bond, and fine dining fan.

Talk:

Reporters and news desks are bombarded with hundreds of press releases every day. How does YOUR press release stand out in that constant news overload? Learn how to pitch your story the correct way, how to speak the language of your target audience, how to pick your moments, how to properly address different media channels, how to avoid pitfalls, and how to measure the success of your media action. “Writing 400+ press releases in 20+ years has taught me what works and what does not work. I am happy to share my secrets!”

How to rapidly convert text content into professional-looking videos

Bio:

Geert Coppens is co-founder and CTO of Moovly, a Belgian-Canadian video creation platform that enables everyone to create videos without being an expert. Moovly is cloud-based and highly customizable, allowing video creation in any style and for any purpose: communication, learning, marketing… The platform includes a media library of 120 million stock media assets but also supports brand-aligned video creation. Prior to Moovly, Geert was CEO of Instruxion, a Brussels based communication agency, and head of training at Cisco EMA.

Workshop:

Videos are everywhere, and everyone always has a smartphone camera available to capture video: a person, a landscape, an event, something happening. While recording footage of tangible things may seem simple, conceptual topics like a strategy, process or vision can be harder to turn into videos. In such cases, writing text content seems to be easier than filming it. More and more DIY tools and techniques become available to easily turn your text content into compelling videos. In this session, we’ll build a few such videos using AI-powered tools, media libraries, text-to-speech, subtitles and translation, often in a matter of minutes. Walk away with inspiration, tips and tricks to get started yourself!

How to make AI speak human

Bio:

Hans van Dam is the founder of Conversation Design Institute, the world’s leading training and certification institute for people working in conversational AI. Hans has trained more than 5,000 professionals in conversational AI and works with Fortune 500 companies to make their AI Assistants more human-centric, effective, and inclusive. He also leads CDI Foundation, a non-profit that develops design standards and provides scholarships within the industry. Hans is a frequent guest lecturer at universities worldwide. He is currently based in Amsterdam, where he lives with his family.

Talk:

If we end up spending lots of time interact with AI Assistants, then how do we want them to talk to us? Do we want them to be quick and efficient, or do we want them to have empathy and be human-centric?

And perhaps more importantly, who should create these experiences? Should engineers decide how people and AI will interact with each other? Or should writers, creatives, designers, and philosophers be in charge of these experiences?

In this talk, Hans van Dam will discuss how to create human-centric, inclusive, and goal-oriented conversational AI Assistants. You will get an understanding of the CDI Workflow that helps enterprises around the world create winning chatbots and voice applications. He will show proven principles and design patterns, that you can use regardless of the technology you are working with – from simple chatbots to large language models.

At the end of this talk, you might just want to become a conversation designer.
